July 15th – August 15th, 2025

Milk Moon is pleased to present ‘Dimensions’, a group show featuring work by Mitch McGee, Anna Kalachyan, and Vanessa Valero. Working across a variety of styles and media, the three artists create textural pieces that blur the lines between two and three dimensional artwork.

Painter and woodworker Mitch McGee crafts intricately detailed relief paintings from layered birch in an ongoing homage to the work of Pop Art legend, Roy Lichtenstein. Hand-cut from a series of elaborately designed jigs, McGee’s works are both technically astounding and conceptually intriguing, carrying forward art historical conversations on media, consumption, and constructions of gender roles.

Los Angeles based Anna Kalachyan explores personal history and the human experience through a variety of media, gleaning new insights with each material iteration of her work. In her latest series, Kalachyan’s abstractions of personal affects are rendered in layered wood and finished with smooth color fields of matte acrylic paint, resulting in subtle but beguiling works that change and shift with the light.

Colombian textile artist Vanessa Valero uses landscape to map her own psychological and emotional relationships to the places she inhabits. With hand-tufted yarn, she constructs complex and colorful imagined mountain ranges that feel simultaneously fantastical and real, imbued with a striking illusion of depth.

A portion of proceeds from this show will be donated to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, an organization recommended by artist Mitch McGee, who resides in Boerne, TX and is grieving the devastating effects of the flood alongside his community.
