Conversing with the Land
Melissa Loop • Carolynn Haydu • Vanessa Valero • Rene Gonzalez
August 31st – October 1st, 2026
This September, Milk Moon Gallery is pleased to present a group show featuring work by Vanessa Valero, Melissa Loop, Rene Gonzalez, and Carolynn Haydu. Through textile, three-dimensional paper collage, and painting, our four artists dialogue with landscapes, flora, and fauna in a series of intimate conversations with the natural world we inhabit. From London's forested green spaces, to the peaks of the Venezuelan Andes, these artists utilize varying degrees of abstraction to describe their unique relationships to the wild spaces they hold dear. Drawing on folklore traditions, historical context, and deep connections to craft, their works capture the energies of the natural world while simultaneously repositioning humanity not as its central character, but as one part of a much broader picture.
